2019-2020 School Year

This year we have three in college (Dakota, Maddy, and Grace), two in high school (Dewey and Charlie), and one in grammar school (Joe). Dakota attends Buffalo State (where Marc is a librarian), Maddy and Grace are at Canisius College (where I am a Professor Emeritus), Dewey and Charlie are at Canisius High School, and Joe is in 7th grade at Sts. Peter and Paul.

Charlie and Joe had their yearly recital today at the studio where they take lessons. Here they collaborate on a Chuck Berry hit from 1968.

Irish Tenors

The three-person group joined the Buffalo Philharmonic last night and we and Zann attended. Tons of Irish and Christmas songs and our predominantly Irish blood (according to genetic testing) resonated big time. If you haven't heard them, here's a YouTube of them doing Danny Boy, which naturally was one of the songs they did last night. Oh, and today is Joy's and Dew's sister Mary's birthday.

The Christmas season

Greetings! As you all know the holiday season is here. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now Christmas! Everybody is also excited for the December birthdays of Dewey, Grandma, Aunt Zann, and Joe.

One month to 2018! Did you take time to rethink your life?  Did you ask yourself "What have I been doing in the past 11 months?" Well now is the time! I know once you do this questioning your life, you can get a fresh start for 2018.

A Post a Year?

Yeah, that's about it. Lots of blogs don't even do that. I think general blogging for sharing purposes has become much less popular because social media keeps us in touch with one another. Snapchat, Instagram, and (ugh) Facebook have taken over. Oh well. Still, we have done some updating and added family member authors to DewJoy Family Updates. We hope they will keep everyone fully informed of family matters.

Happy New Year!

Kind of "happy" to say goodbye to 2016. We're worried about Trump and hope that he really will help the people who have gotten the short end of the stick during a time of great economic growth. We have low confidence that he will do much.

Besides him, there have been some very good things that happened during the year. Here's a great list.

December Birthdays

We Buffalo Bayers celebrated 3 birthdays this month--Joyce, Zann, and Dewey. One more to go, Joey, after Christmas. But these three are close together. Amy and Peter had us over for a big party. Lots of fun and laughter.
